What Is a Gamer-Chick?

A gamer chick is a rare creature. She is a female who enjoys playing role-playing games.

A gamer-chick usually starts playing role-playing games for a number of reasons. Often it is a male who gets her into it, such as a boyfriend or older brother. However, she enjoys what she is participating in so much that she takes the obsession on on her own.

There are many types of gamer chicks. Some have only played video games. Some prefer to game online. Others play more interactive games, such as table-top games, Live-Action games (LARPs), or even card games.

Because the ratio of female to male gamers is so small, the gamer-chick is usually treated with extra respect by her peers.

However, as more and more women are getting into gaming, the gap is deminishing.
